Asian Rowing Indoor Championship Gold Medalist Gursewak Singh gets warm welcome in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, June 8, 2025: Gursewak Singh, who clinched first place in the Asian Rowing Indoor Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand, from May 28 to 30, 2025, was warmly welcomed on his arrival in Ferozepur.
Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (under training) Simranjit Singh felicitated the player with sweets and extended best wishes. Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya's father, Ude Chand Dahiya, an MLA from Ferozepur Rural, was also present.
Assistant Commissioner Simranjit Singh expressed his immense joy at Gursewak Singh's achievement and said it was a proud moment for the entire district. He highlighted that Gursewak Singh has made both the district and Punjab proud by securing first place in the games held in Thailand.
He added that the district administration and the state government have always prioritised supporting players in competing at major sporting events. Simranjit Singh also mentioned that the Punjab Government and Sports Department are continuously developing sports grounds to help athletes excel in their training and competitions. He emphasised that players are the pride of the nation, and such accomplishments on international platforms bring great honor to Punjab and India.
On this occasion, District Sports Officer Rupinder Singh Brar said that Gursewak Singh, from village Mala Rahime Ke, had created a celebratory atmosphere across the district with his victory. He stated that the district has been providing good coaching and excellent sports grounds to its athletes, which has helped them prepare well and showcase their talent in various competitions. He expressed his pride in Gursewak Singh's remarkable win.
Chairman of the Market Committee Ferozepur Cantonment, Beant Singh, along with sports enthusiasts and coaches, were also present to mark the celebration of this proud achievement.
