Kamal Kaur Bhabhi Murder Case: Two accused sent to 2-day police custody, hunt for mastermind intensifies

Bathinda (Punjab), June 14, 2025: In a significant development in the murder case of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, popularly known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, the Bathinda Police have secured a two-day police remand of the two arrested accused — Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjit Singh.
The accused were produced before the court on Friday evening, which granted police remand to facilitate further investigation.During the remand period, police aim to extract crucial information that could lead them to the prime conspirator, Amritpal Singh Mehron.
Police teams have intensified their search for Mehron, particularly focusing on his native village Mehron in the Moga district, but sources say the accused remains at large. His family has also not cooperated with authorities so far.
Speaking to the media, Bathinda SSP Amneet Kondal confirmed that interrogation is underway and all efforts are being made to apprehend the mastermind. Kondal also referred to a video released by Amritpal Singh Mehron, in which he claimed responsibility for the murder and issued a warning against social media users posting “vulgar content.”
The case gained widespread attention after the body of Kanchan Kumari alias Kamal Kaur Bhabhi was found inside a car parked in the Adesh Hospital parking lot three days ago.
The two accused — Jaspreet Singh, son of Charanjit Singh from village Mehron (Moga), and Nimratjit Singh, son of Sukhwinder Singh from Harike Pattan (Tarn Taran) — were arrested soon after the body was recovered.
Police believe the murder was carried out on the orders of Amritpal Singh Mehron, who remains absconding.
