MC launches preemptive fogging drive to prevent dengue outbreak
Ferozepur, June 16, 2025: In a proactive move to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, the Municipal Council (MC) of Ferozepur has launched an extensive fogging drive across the city. The initiative, led by Council President Rinku Grover, aims to curb mosquito breeding before any cases are reported.
Fogging machines have been deployed in identified dengue-prone areas, and residents are being urged to keep their doors and windows open during fogging operations to ensure the spray effectively reaches indoor spaces.
“Fogging used to start only after dengue cases were reported, but this year we have taken early preventive steps,” said Rinku Grover. “We’ve already stocked up on necessary medicines and chemicals to destroy mosquito larvae and reduce breeding.”
Special attention is being given to areas with stagnant water and open drains, which are known hotspots for mosquito breeding. Municipal teams have been instructed to prioritise such localities and ensure thorough coverage.
These efforts reflect a shift towards a more preventive public health strategy, aiming to eliminate mosquito populations before they pose a serious health risk.
