Misbehaviour with BSF women jawans, attempt to undress when stopped, three booked
Ferozepur, June 23, 2025: A serious incident has come to light in the border area of Mamdot in Ferozepur district, where Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, including women staff, were reportedly misbehaved with by local individuals near the Gatti Hayat BSF Border Outpost (BOP).
According to the complaint filed by Inspector Z. Ngouri, Company Commander of the 155 Battalion 'E' Company of BSF, on June 20, a group of men were consuming alcohol near the BSF checkpoint gate while operating their field motor pump. When BSF personnel, including female staff, intervened and asked them to stop, the accused allegedly hurled abuses at them. Shockingly, they also attempted to undress in front of the women personnel, causing further outrage.
Based on the complaint, the Mamdot police registered a case on June 22 against three accused — Jarnail Singh, Harjinder Singh, and Dilbagh Singh, all residents of Chak Bhange Wala village. The case has been registered under Sections 132, 221, and 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 353, 186, and 503 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The accused are currently absconding, and Investigation Officer ASI Gehna Ram has confirmed that efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest them.
This incident raises serious concerns over law and order in the sensitive border belt.
