Tarn Taran Police freeze ₹9.04 Crore property of 5 drug smugglers

Tarn Taran, June 29, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, Ferozepur police have confiscated properties worth Rs 9,04,15,748 belonging to five notorious drug smugglers. These actions were taken under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act following thorough investigations.
The action was led by SSP Deepak Parek, as part of the Punjab government’s mission to dismantle drug networks, under the tutelage of Harmanbir Singh Gill, DIG Ferozepur Range. Properties of the accused attached were - Nirmal Singh alias Nimma and his father Nek Ram Singh – Residents of Bajaj Street, Jalalabad. Their total assets seized amount to ₹7.04 crore, Tejpal Singh alias Teja and his father Mehar Singh, Residents of Kalan Wala. Assets worth ₹40.70 lakh were seized, Harjeet Singh alias Jeeta and his father Gurdev Singh, Residents of Sehna Bala. Properties worth ₹47.98 lakh were attached, Amardeep Singh and his father, Balwinder Singh, Residents of Rehmanwali Khurd, Abohar. Assets worth ₹45.70 lakh were confiscated, and Harjinder Singh and his father, Sukhwinder Singh, Residents of Vaidwala. Their property, worth ₹65.57 lakh, was seized.
The seizures include agricultural land, vehicles, and residential properties, all linked to illegal drug money. These assets were frozen after proper verification from competent authorities and following due legal procedures.
So far in 2025, the police have confiscated properties worth ₹9.73 crore from 22 major drug smugglers under the NDPS Act, and similar action is being initiated in 44 other cases.
