YUDH NASHIAN VIRUDH: Ferozepur police nabs five with heroin, pistols and weapons
Ferozepur, July 6, 2025: Ferozepur Police achieved a breakthrough in its ongoing "War Against Drugs" operation by arresting five accused and recovering significant quantities of heroin, opium, and illegal weapons in multiple cases.
Bhupinder Singh briefing media informed that in all the three cases, three accused were arrested under NDPS Act with total recovery of 2.495 kg heroin 30 gm opium 2 motorcycles and 2 mobile phones and in Arms Act, two accused were arrested with 2 pistols .32 bore, 17 live cartridges, one mobile phone and one car.
The accused arrested in one case are - Balwinder Singh alias Babbu (30) and Charanjit Kaur alias Channo Bhai (55) of village Nihale Wala, with 1.815 gm heroin, 2 mobiles and one motorcycle and in the second case, 475 gm heroin and 30 gm opium was recovered from village Kilche Bandh without any recovery of person and in the third case Jashan Preet Singh alias Jashan (20) and Dev (19) and Gurpartap Singh alias Gora were recovered with 2 pistols .32 bore with 17 live cartridges.
The accused were caught near Dulchi Ke Bandh in Ferozepur Sadar during a checkpoint operation set up by the CIA team based on secret information, and the weapons were allegedly intended to be used in a planned crime. And further interrogation is underway.
During the investigation, Harjinder Singh alias Sunny has come to the surface, who is booked under the NDPS Act at Makhu police station on the recovery of 100 gm of heroin in March 2024.
So far, Ferozepur Police has registered 655 cases under the NDPS Act since March 1, arresting 836 individuals and recovering approximately 96 kg 687 gm of heroin.
Police suspect that the recovered heroin was smuggled from across the Pakistan border through intermediaries. SSP stated that a detailed backwards and forward link investigation is underway, and more arrests, including Harjinder Singh and recoveries, are likely in the coming days.
