Artists must Act responsibly: Kabir on vulgarity in songs
Ferozepur, July 30, 2025: 18-year-old Kabir Nanda, born and raised in the border town of Ferozepur, is all set to make his Bollywood debut as the lead in the upcoming Hindi feature film Ghich Pich, releasing in cinemas on August 8th.
Kabir stars as Gurpreet Singh, a turban-wearing teenager from early 2000s Chandigarh, in a story that follows three friends and their complex, emotional equations with their fathers. At its core, Ghich Pich is a coming-of-age drama that captures the silences, conflicts, and connections between generations, especially between fathers and sons.
From performing in school events in Ferozepur to landing his first lead role on the big screen, Kabir’s journey is one of quiet determination. With no family background in the industry, he carved his path from a small city to the heart of Indian cinema.
Following Ghich Pich, Kabir will be seen playing a primary role in Season 2 of Netflix’s Kohrra and has also wrapped a key role in Dice Media’s upcoming series Ikkhate.
With Ghich Pich, Kabir brings both freshness and depth to a role that’s close to his own roots, marking the beginning of a promising acting career.
In response to a question about vulgarity in songs, Kabir said that writers should be mindful while composing songs, and singers should refrain from accepting songs that are anti-social.
