Ashwani Sharma gets grand welcome in Ferozepur; Vows to protect farmers’ land
Ferozepur, August 2, 2025: BJP Punjab Working President Ashwani Sharma received a grand welcome in Ferozepur during a massive public meeting organised under the leadership of Central Executive Member Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. Thousands of enthusiastic workers and women gathered for the event, which evolved into a powerful political demonstration of strength against the ruling AAP.
Prominent BJP leaders, including Shamsher Singh Kakkar, Rakesh Rathore, Manpreet Singh Badal, Surjit Kumar Jyani, and others, attended. Davinder Jung, Ashwini Grover, Mohit Dhall and others were also present. During the event, Sharma welcomed Kulwant Rai Kataria from Congress into the BJP. Rana Sodhi highlighted the overwhelming response despite only 12 hours of preparation, calling it a sign of the BJP’s grassroots strength.
Sodhi credited the BJP for key development projects like the PGI Satellite Centre in Ferozepur and the launch of new train services to Nanded Sahib and Haridwar. He urged voters to support the BJP in the 2027 Assembly elections for continued development.
Ashwani Sharma launched a scathing attack on AAP, accusing it of looting Punjab’s interests and running the state from Delhi through Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. He warned against the deployment of Delhi officials in Punjab.
Rejecting AAP’s land pooling policy, Sharma vowed to protect every inch of farmers’ land. He also criticised the government for failing to fulfil promises made to women and plunging the state into debt.
Sharma accused AAP of political vendetta in the Vigilance raid on Gurpreet Singh Gill and announced plans to expand the BJP’s base and revive the Yuva Morcha within three months.
