Babbar Khalsa terrorist ‘Pindi’ extradited from UAE to India
Babushahi Bureau
New Delhi, September 27, 2025: In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police and central agencies have successfully extradited Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Parminder Singh alias Pindi from Abu Dhabi to India. Pindi, a Khalistan sympathizer, had been hiding abroad for years and was closely linked to Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda and the Happy Pasian gang.
Wanted in Punjab for several heinous crimes, Pindi was accused of petrol pump attacks, extortion, murder attempts, and issuing threats.
How the operation was executed
A four-member Punjab Police team, with the assistance of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and UAE authorities, reached Abu Dhabi on September 24. After completing legal formalities, Pindi was brought back to India on September 26.
The coordinated operation involved the CBI’s International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), MEA, Ministry of Home Affairs, Abu Dhabi’s National Central Bureau (NCB), and Punjab Police. Earlier, a Red Corner Notice (RCN) had been issued against him through Interpol, leading to his arrest in the UAE.
DGP hails “historic operation”
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav hailed the extradition as “historic.” In a statement, he said:
“Punjab Police, with the support of central agencies, has successfully extradited BKI terrorist Parminder Singh alias Pindi from Abu Dhabi. He was a close aide of Pakistan-based terrorist Rinda and gangster Happy Pasian. Pindi was involved in petrol bombings, violent attacks, and extortion in Batala and other areas. This operation underlines our zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and organized crime.”
Interpol channels playing key role
The CBI, as India’s National Central Bureau, has been instrumental in bringing back more than 130 fugitives in recent years using Interpol’s Red Notice system. Pindi’s case is the latest success under this mechanism.
Delhi Police intensifies crackdown
Alongside Punjab Police, Delhi Police’s Special Cell is also actively working to extradite notorious gangsters operating from abroad.
Special CP Pramod Kushwaha said that strong action has already been taken against over 50 gangsters and their associates. He warned that those sheltering criminals or glorifying them on social media will face strict action under MCOCA.
The extradition of Parminder Singh alias Pindi marks a significant step in India’s fight against terrorism and organized crime, strengthening national security and sending a strong message to anti-India elements across the globe.
