Chandigarh, November 21, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kurukshetra on November 25 to participate in the historic 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, where he will lead the nation in paying homage to the ninth Sikh Guru’s unparalleled sacrifice for humanity, faith, and freedom.
The Haryana Government and the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee are jointly organising the commemorative event at Jyotisar.
Ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday reviewed the preparations at the venue along with senior officials, directing them to ensure flawless arrangements for the large gathering expected.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will also tour the newly established Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra, which will soon be opened to tourists from India and abroad, and inaugurate Panchjanya on the same premises. He will further participate in the International Gita Mahotsav and join the Maha Aarti.
Speaking to mediapersons after the inspection, Chief Minister Saini said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s martyrdom stands as a timeless symbol of courage and protection of human rights. “His sacrifice for the defence of humanity and religion must reach every generation,” he said.
Saini added that four Nagar Kirtan Yatras are moving through every district of Haryana as part of the commemorations and will converge in Kurukshetra on November 24. The main samagam will be held the next day in the presence of Prime Minister Modi.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s continued efforts to honour the legacy of Sikh Gurus and other revered personalities, recalling that Haryana had earlier celebrated the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with deep reverence.
