Toronto (Canada), November 24, 2025: A 51-year-old Indian national on a six-month visitor visa to Canada has been found guilty of criminally harassing two teenage girls near a high school in Ontario. The man, identified as Jagjit Singh, had travelled to Canada in July to visit his newborn grandchild.
However, shortly after his arrival, authorities say Singh began spending time near the smoking area outside a high school in the Sarnia region, where he allegedly targeted and harassed female students.
Between September 8 and September 11, he repeatedly approached teenage girls, attempted to take photos with them, and made inappropriate comments involving alcohol and drugs, according to Canadian media outlets.
The Winnipeg Sun reported that one of the victims told police she initially refused Singh’s request for a photograph, but eventually agreed, hoping he would leave her alone. Instead, Singh allegedly moved into her personal space and attempted to put his arm around her. Feeling unsafe, the girl stood up and pushed him away.
Following his conviction, Singh will be deported from Canada and prohibited from re-entering the country.
