Chandigarh, December 28, 2025: The Punjab Government has provided free medical, legal, and counselling assistance to 5,121 women victims of violence through One Stop Centres across the state during the current financial year up to November, said Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr Baljit Kaur.
Dr Baljit Kaur stated that ensuring women’s safety, dignity, and empowerment is a top priority of the Mann Government. The One Stop Centres provide comprehensive services under one roof, including free medical treatment, legal aid, police support, counselling, and temporary shelter for women affected by violence.
“Every woman who approaches a One Stop Centre carries emotional trauma, insecurity, and a strong hope for justice,” Dr Kaur said. “It is the moral and social responsibility of the government to stand firmly with them, providing protection, emotional support, and opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity.”
She further emphasized that under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government has made women’s safety and empowerment a core governance priority, ensuring timely access to support and enabling women to move towards justice, security, and self-reliance.
The Minister added that the Mann Government will continue to strengthen and expand such initiatives, ensuring the safety, dignity, and rehabilitation of women across Punjab.
