Punjab Govt marks Christmas with state-level celebration in Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur (Punjab), December 29, 2025: The Punjab Government organised a grand state-level Christmas celebration at Dana Mandi, Gurdaspur, to convey festive greetings and promote social harmony.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Cabinet Minister & AAP State President Aman Arora attended as chief guests, extending Christmas greetings on behalf of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, and Punjab in-charge Manish Sisodia.
Apostle Dr Ankur Yousaf Narula also participated, sharing the message of love, peace, and brotherhood. Speaking at the event, Minister Cheema highlighted the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ on truth, compassion, and service to humanity. Aman Arora said the festival’s state-level celebration fulfilled a long-standing demand of the Christian community and would continue annually to strengthen social harmony.

AAP Working President and Batala MLA Amansher Singh Shery Kalsi, along with other dignitaries, extended greetings and praised the government for respecting all religions. Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board Advisor Deepak Bali emphasized the government’s commitment to religious inclusivity.
Chairmen of the Punjab Minority Commission and Christian Welfare Board, Jatinder Masih Gaurav and Daniel Bhatti, expressed gratitude and presented community-related demands, which ministers assured would be addressed.
As part of the celebration, announcements were made to set up Masih Chowks in Gurdaspur, Batala, Dera Baba Nanak, Dhariwal, and Fatehgarh Churian. The ceremony included a sermon by Apostle Dr Narula, a cake-cutting ceremony, and recognition of several personalities contributing to community service.
Prominent attendees included MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Uppal, various pastors and bishops, district officials, and a large congregation of devotees.
