Three Punjab districts get new SSPs in major IPS reshuffle

Chandigarh, January 10, 2026: The Punjab Government on Friday ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 22 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state. As part of the exercise, Superintendents of Police (SSPs) in three districts have been changed, while two senior officers have been promoted and assigned key responsibilities.
New SSP postings

Bathinda: Jyoti Yadav (IPS, 2019), earlier serving as SSP Khanna, has been appointed as the new SSP of Bathinda. He replaces Amneet Kondal.

Rupnagar: Maninder Singh (IPS, 2019) has been posted as SSP Rupnagar, succeeding Gulneet Singh Khurana, who has been promoted to the rank of DIG.

Khanna: Darpan Ahluwalia (IPS, 2020), previously posted as Staff Officer to the DGP Punjab, has been appointed as the new SSP Khanna.
Promotions and new responsibilities

Amneet Kondal, SSP Bathinda, has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and posted as DIG, Personnel, Punjab. He has also been given additional charge as DIG, Social Media, Punjab.

Gulneet Singh Khurana, SSP Rupnagar, has been promoted and posted as DIG, Counter Intelligence, Punjab.
