Samrala (Ludhiana), January 11, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday arrived in Samrala area of Ludhiana district, where he first paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Charan Kanwal Sahib at Machhiwara Sahib.
After offering prayers, Saini said he felt fortunate to bow his head on the land sanctified by the penance of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said the Gurus made immense sacrifices for the country, society and religion, adding that history would always remember their contributions. “It is because of the sacrifices of the Gurus that we are able to breathe freely today,” he remarked.

Commenting on the controversial video case involving Delhi Opposition Leader Atishi, the Haryana Chief Minister said some people resort to such acts only to promote their politics. “The teachings given to us by the Gurus make it clear that not only speaking wrongly, but even thinking wrongly is a sin,” Saini said.
Attack on Punjab Government
Saini also launched a sharp attack on the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, raising questions over its performance. He asked how much financial support had actually been provided to farmers and said, “People prefer work, but this government survives on words.”
Questions on Manifesto Promises
Referring to the Aam Aadmi Party’s election manifesto, Saini questioned the status of the promised ₹2,500 honorarium, stating that the government is nearing completion of four years in power but has failed to fulfil its commitment.
