Bathinda (Punjab), January 11, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday interacted with students enrolled under Mission Pragati at the District Library in Bathinda, highlighting the state government’s efforts to provide free academic and physical training for competitive recruitment examinations, including SSB, police, and armed forces.
Addressing the gathering, CM Mann said the programme aims to support meritorious students from rural areas who lack access to affordable coaching. “This initiative uses existing infrastructure and resources to provide students with essential study material and training at no cost,” he said.
The first batch consists of 40 students, who will receive both academic coaching and physical training conducted by instructors from the Punjab Police and C-Pyte. The programme follows a teacher-mentor model, where faculty members who have previously appeared for competitive exams guide the students, creating a “youth helping youth” framework.
CM Mann emphasized that Mission Pragati reflects the government’s philosophy of “no one left behind”, aiming to empower youth, increase access to education, and boost the representation of Bathinda’s students in government services.
“This initiative marks a step towards transforming Punjab’s youth into job givers instead of job seekers,” he said, stressing the government’s broader vision of an Education Revolution that combines skill development with opportunities for holistic growth.
