Rajinder Gupta expresses gratitude to PM Modi for Halwara Terminal inauguration; Watch Video

Adampur (Punjab), February 1, 2026: Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta on Saturday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Government for inaugurating the Halwara Airport terminal, calling it a long-awaited project that will significantly benefit Punjab’s industrial and economic landscape.
Rajya Sabha MP and Trident Group Chairman Rajinder Gupta extended special thanks to the Central Government for the landmark development. He said the new civil terminal at Halwara, Ludhiana, will provide fresh momentum to the economy of the Malwa region.
Developed jointly by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Government of Punjab at a cost of ₹54.67 crore, the terminal covers an area of 2,000 square metres. It has the capacity to handle 300 passengers during peak hours and up to two lakh passengers annually. The facility is expected to significantly benefit the industrial, healthcare, and education sectors, while also improving regional connectivity.

Historic Renaming of Adampur Airport
On the auspicious occasion of the 649th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, the Central Government renamed Adampur Airport in Jalandhar as ‘Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Airport, Adampur’. The formal inauguration was also carried out by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It is noteworthy that Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta, who has been consistently advocating for these projects, was specially invited by the Union Minister to attend the historic ceremony. The twin developments are being seen as a major step towards strengthening Punjab’s aviation infrastructure and overall socio-economic growth.
