Agriculture to get major share as NABARD launches ₹9,588.37 crore PLCP for Ferozepur

Ferozepur, February 17, 2026: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has launched the Potential Linked Credit Plan (PLP) for Ferozepur district for the financial year 2026–27 during the District Level Implementation and Monitoring Committee (DLIMC) meeting.
The PLP was released by the Assistant Commissioner (General), Sh. Rajveer Singh Bhangu, PCS, in the presence of Sh. Dalwinder Sandhu, Managing Director, The Ferozepur Central Cooperative Bank Ltd.; Ms Sonia, Assistant Registrar (Cooperatives); Sh. Rohit Kashyap, District Development Manager (DDM), NABARD, along with a few bankers and farmer representatives. The Assistant Commissioner appreciated the initiative and encouraged stakeholders to utilise the PLP as a roadmap for strengthening credit flow and rural development in the district.
The launch of the district PLP has been undertaken instead of the State Focus Paper proposed to be released on 20th for the Punjab State.
The total credit potential for the priority sector in Ferozepur district has been estimated at ₹9,588.37 crore for FY 2026–27. The projections indicate that Agriculture and Allied Sectors dominate with ₹5,559.83 crore (≈58%), including ₹5,119.87 crore for farm credit, ₹93.31 crore for agriculture infrastructure and ₹346.65 crore for allied activities. The MSME sector has a potential of ₹2,381.51 crore (≈25%), while other key segments include ₹751.50 crore for housing (≈8%) and ₹489.38 crore for export credit (≈5%), along with allocations for education, renewable energy, social infrastructure and other priority sectors.
It was also informed that sensitisation on key highlights and sectoral priorities of the PLP will be undertaken during the ensuing District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting of the December quarter.
