Demand for Anti-Sacrilege Law: Massive motorcycle rally to be held in Gurdaspur on this date

Gurdaspur (Punjab), February 18, 2026:A large motorcycle rally will be taken out in Gurdaspur on February 19 to press for the enactment of a strict law against sacrilege of any religion and religious scriptures.
The call for the rally has received strong support from residents and various organisations across the district.
The protest movement traces back to Samana, where Bhai Gurjeet Singh Khalsa has been sitting atop a 400-foot tower for the past 508 days—nearly 17 months—demanding a stringent law to prevent acts of sacrilege.
His prolonged protest has drawn attention across Punjab, with supporters mobilising in different regions to amplify the demand.
Morcha coordinator Bhai Gurpreet Singh, representing the Sarv Dharam Beadbi Roko Kanoon Morcha, has been camping in Gurdaspur for the past several days to mobilise support.
Following the motorcycle rally, organisers have announced that a memorandum will be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, urging the government to enact a comprehensive anti-sacrilege law.
The proposed rally has garnered backing from multiple groups. After endorsements from the Sanatan Jagran Manch and several ward councillors, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Charuni) and the District Traders’ Association have also extended their support to both the motorcycle rally and the demand for a Sarv Dharam Beadbi Roko Kanoon.
