Railway runs 8 pairs Holi Special trains to ease festival travel rush
Ferozepur, February 27, 2026: In anticipation of heavy passenger movement during the Holi festival, the Firozpur Division of Northern Railway is operating eight pairs of special trains, in addition to regular scheduled services, to facilitate convenient travel for rail passengers.
According to a press release from the Divisional Office, two Holi special trains have already departed successfully with over 100% occupancy. On February 26, 2026, a special train ran from Firozpur Cantt to Danapur, while on February 27, 2026, two specials operated—one from Amritsar to Katihar and another from Amritsar to Patna—both leaving fully occupied for their destinations.
Additional services include: Train No. 04610 (Amritsar to Mansi, Bihar): This Holi special will depart from Amritsar at 20:10 hrs on February 28, 2026 and Train No. 04614 (Amritsar to Katihar, Bihar): Scheduled to leave Amritsar at 14:15 hrs on March 1, 2026.
Rail passengers are requested to avail these special trains for smoother journeys during the festive period.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar appealed to passengers to maintain restraint and patience, assuring that adequate arrangements have been made for their convenience. He urged travelers not to carry inflammable items and informed that Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel are counseling unreserved passengers to board trains smoothly and safely.
