New Delhi, March 15, 2026: A deeply emotional video of Harish Rana, whose case is believed to be among the first approved instances of assisted death in India, has gone viral on social media, leaving many viewers moved to tears.
Rana, who has reportedly lived in a severely incapacitated condition for nearly 13 years, has been shifted from Ghaziabad to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, where doctors are expected to withdraw his life support system following legal approval.
The Supreme Court of India on March 11 allowed Rana’s plea related to euthanasia, paving the way for the medical procedure after years of legal and emotional struggle faced by his family.

A 22-second video circulating online shows a member of the Brahma Kumaris offering spiritual comfort to Rana before the life-support withdrawal. In the clip, a woman identified as Sister Lovely gently places a tilak on Rana’s forehead and is heard saying, “Forgive everyone and seek forgiveness from all before you go.”
The video appears to show Rana responding subtly to the touch, with slight eye movements and trembling lips, which many viewers interpreted as an emotional farewell. The moment has sparked widespread reactions online, with people expressing sorrow and empathy for the family.
Rana’s family, which is associated with the Brahma Kumaris spiritual community, was visibly emotional when he was taken from their home in Ghaziabad to AIIMS.
