Marathon from S.M. College to JCP Hussainiwala on March 22: DC Deepashikha Sharma
Ferozepur, March 17, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Deepashikha Sharma, has announced that a marathon will be organised on March 22, 2026, from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM, starting from Surjit Memorial (S. M.) College on Moga Road to JCP Hussainiwala. The event is being organised by the BSF in collaboration with the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner stated that the marathon is part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, “War Against Drugs,” aimed at spreading awareness about health and motivating youth to stay away from substance abuse by adopting sports and a healthy lifestyle.
She informed that all necessary arrangements, including security, traffic management, and medical facilities, have been put in place to ensure a smooth and safe holding of the event for participants.
Appealing to the youth, students, sportspersons, social organisations, and residents of the district, the DC urged maximum participation to make the marathon a success.
She added that such initiatives not only promote a healthy society but also strengthen social unity and public awareness.
