IAS officer Tejveer Singh takes charge as Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals

New Delhi, April 8, 2026 – Tejveer Singh on Tuesday assumed charge as Secretary of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (DCPC) under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
He was welcomed on the occasion by Nivedita Shukla Verma, the outgoing Secretary, along with senior officials of the department.
Prior to this appointment, Singh was serving as Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Government of Punjab. A 1994-batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, he has held several key administrative positions, including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and Secretary to the Chief Minister.
He has also served as District Magistrate in multiple districts.
Meanwhile, Verma has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. She will also hold additional charge as Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare.
