Man jumps to death from 8th floor of Haryana Civil Secretariat

Chandigarh, May 4, 2026: A man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the eighth floor of the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Monday, triggering panic inside the premises.
The deceased has been identified as Balwant Singh, a resident of Panchkula. According to initial information, he had entered the Secretariat using a visitor pass and was reportedly there to meet an official.
Police and administrative teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident. Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
