Unidentified masked men vandalize BJP office in Zirakpur

Zirakpur (Punjab), May 11, 2026: Tension prevailed in Zirakpur after unidentified masked men allegedly vandalised a local office of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. Part of the incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed at the premises.
According to preliminary information, around five masked individuals entered the BJP office and allegedly damaged property before fleeing the spot. The motive behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.

Police teams reached the location soon after receiving information and have taken possession of the CCTV footage as part of the investigation. Officials said efforts are underway to identify the accused and determine whether the act was politically motivated.
Reacting to the incident, BJP leader from Dera Bassi Gurdarshan Singh claimed that the attackers appeared to be looking for him before vandalising the office premises.
“Five masked men entered the BJP office. They initially searched for me and later splashed ink on the walls. Such incidents are unfortunate, but our workers are not intimidated,” he said.
The BJP leader further alleged deterioration in the law-and-order situation in Punjab and said the party would raise the issue politically in the upcoming elections.
Police said the matter is under investigation and appropriate action will be taken based on the evidence collected. Police have taken possession of the CCTV footage and launched an investigation to identify those involved in the attack.
