New Delhi, May 13, 2026: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved an increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy for the 2026-27 marketing season.
Under the revised MSP structure, the MSP for paddy has been increased by ₹72 per quintal, taking it from ₹2,369 to ₹2,441 per quintal.
The decision was taken as part of the Centre’s annual revision of MSP rates for kharif crops aimed at ensuring remunerative prices for farmers.
According to the government, the revised MSP is intended to provide better returns to paddy growers while maintaining support for the agriculture sector ahead of the kharif sowing season.
Officials said the MSP has been fixed in line with the government’s policy of ensuring at least 1.5 times the cost of production for farmers.
