In a significant move to review the progress of the first phase of the National Census 2027, Joint Director R.P. Singh conducted a surprise inspection of census operations in Jalalabad Tehsil. During his visit, he personally inspected the field-level work and reviewed the data collection process being carried out by the census staff. He also issued necessary instructions and guidelines to ensure smooth and transparent execution of the census work.
Accompanying him during the inspection were District Coordinator. Kartik Arya and Deputy ESA. Harjinder Singh. The National Census 2027 work in Jalalabad Tehsil is being carried out under the able guidance of Sub Divisional Magistrate Kanwarjit Singh Mann and under the supervision of Tehsildar Sukhcharan Singh.
Providing further details, SDM Jalalabad informed that the door-to-door data collection process has been underway since May 15. For efficient implementation, the entire tehsil has been divided into two zones — rural and urban. The rural census operations are being supervised by Tehsildar Sukhcharan Singh, while the urban area work is being monitored by EO Rohit Karwasra.
To ensure the successful completion of the census exercise, nearly 466 enumerators and around 60 supervisors have been deployed across the tehsil. The staff is collecting and uploading data through a digital application to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
During the inspection, R.P. Singh directed all officials and employees associated with the census operation to carry out the work with utmost accuracy, transparency, and dedication. He also emphasized maintaining strict confidentiality of the collected data.
Among those present on the occasion were census office team members Manoj Kumar, Rupinder Khera, Dr. Rohit Thakkar, Rishi Thakkar, Ramandeep Dargan,Jaskaranjit Singh, Vipan Gaba, Baldev Singh, Neeraj Goombar, Naveen Kalra, and Technical Assistant Surjit Singh, along with other staff members involved in the census operations.
