5 IELTS, Immigration and Travel firms face licence suspension in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 25, 2026: The orders for the suspension of licences of five firms operating as IELTS coaching centres, travel agencies and immigration consultancy services under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012 and Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Rules, 2013 was ordered by Additional District Magistrat Dr Amandeep Kaur.
According to the ADM, the licences were suspended after the firms failed to renew their license despite the expiry of the validity period. The suspended firms include Advance Academy on Muktsar Road, Guruharsahai; Inspire Education on Talwandi Road, Guruharsahai; Pathfinder IELTS Centre, Ferozepur City; Oneness Immigration Services on Moga Road, Ferozepur; and Lakshya Coaching Centre of IELTS on Railway Road, Makhu.
ADM stated that the licence holders had earlier been directed to submit applications for renewal at least two months before the expiry of their licences. However, despite repeated notices, neither renewal applications were submitted nor were the licences surrendered to the office concerned.
The authorities observed that the firms had violated provisions of the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Rules, 2013 framed under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012, particularly Section 5(2) of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act. Keeping these violations in view, the licences have been suspended with immediate effect under Section 6(E) of the Act.
Dr. Amandeep Kaur further directed the licence holders to submit their replies within seven days of the issuance of the notice. Failing to respond within the stipulated period would lead to ex-parte proceedings for cancellation of the licences.
