  Amritsar, June 6, 2026: 42nd anniversary of Operation Blue Star will be observed here and other parts of Punjab today. On this day on the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s orders Indian Army had started this operation which has always remained controversial.
  
  Ardas would be performed at Sri Akal Takht Sahib and acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj will honour families of victims of the operation.
  
  Security agencies including Punjab Police has made elaborate arrangements throughout the state to ensure that day passes off peacefully.
