London (UK), June 14, 2026: A 26-year-old man from Punjab was fatally stabbed in the United Kingdom, leaving his family in shock and prompting calls for a thorough investigation and the early repatriation of his body.
The deceased, Gurbhej Singh, was a resident of Mehindipur village in Punjab's Tarn Taran district. He had been living in England for the past four years.
According to reports, Gurbhej Singh sustained serious injuries during an alleged attack in Southall, west London, earlier this week. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.
The incident reportedly occurred on North Road near Dormers Wells Lane in Southall. A second man in his 30s was also injured and was admitted to a hospital.
Gurbhej's father, Mukhtar Singh, said the family was informed about the incident by friends who had been staying with his son in England. He alleged that the same individuals later came under suspicion in the attack. According to him, they attempted to arrange medical treatment for Gurbhej after the incident, but his injuries proved fatal.
Mukhtar Singh, who serves as the village Nambardar, has appealed to the Government of India to ensure justice for his son and facilitate the swift return of his mortal remains to Punjab.
Gurbhej was the youngest among four siblings and is survived by his parents and three sisters.
