At Golden Temple, Nitin Nabin Pledges to Follow Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Legacy of Inclusive Governance

Amritsar (Punjab), June 20, 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Saturday promised to adopt the model of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's empire for the development and progress of Punjab while paying obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). During his visit, he also performed seva in the Langar Hall by washing utensils, praying for peace, communal harmony and prosperity across the country, with special emphasis on Punjab's well-being.
Speaking to the media after offering prayers, Nabin said he felt blessed to visit the holiest Sikh shrine and performed Ardas for "Sarbat da Bhala" (the welfare of all humanity), peace, national progress and Punjab's prosperity. He said the ideals of justice, inclusiveness and good governance associated with Maharaja Ranjit Singh's rule should serve as an inspiration for Punjab's future development.
Nabin also participated in seva at the Langar Hall, where he washed utensils, reflecting the Sikh tradition of humility, selfless service and equality.

Sharing his experience on social media, the BJP National President described the visit as deeply humbling and said that participating in the Langar seva reinforced the timeless values of service and social harmony embedded in Sikh philosophy.
Punjab BJP President Kewal Dhillon and BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh accompanied Nabin during the visit. The leaders later enjoyed traditional Amritsari lassi, with Chugh saying the experience reflected Punjab's rich cultural heritage, warmth and hospitality.
The BJP leaders also reiterated their commitment to working collectively towards building a drug-free Punjab, stressing the need for social awareness and public participation in eliminating the menace of narcotics from the state.
Nabin's visit forms part of the BJP's ongoing outreach programme in Punjab, aimed at strengthening social engagement and promoting campaigns focused on cultural values, youth welfare and a drug-free society.
