Chandigarh, July 7, 2026: Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi has come out in support of the Punjabi film Sutlej, saying the movie presents "only the truth" and questioning the criticism surrounding its removal.
Reacting to the controversy, Jassi said it is often difficult for people to speak and accept the truth, but maintained that the film truthfully portrays its subject matter.

He credited actor Diljit Dosanjh and filmmaker Honey Trehan for their efforts in bringing what he described as the truth to the people of Punjab through the film.
Jassi also took a swipe at those opposing Sutlej, saying they have no right to criticise the film without understanding its message.
