Chandigarh, July 10: The decision of the Congress high command to reappoint Amrinder Singh Raja Warring as President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) has sparked a wave of enthusiasm and unity within the Punjab Congress.
Leaders from across the state have welcomed the move, describing it as a strong endorsement of Warring's dynamic leadership and organizational abilities.
Expressing gratitude to Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for reaffirming their faith in Warring, former President of the District Congress Committee, SBS Nagar, Satvir Singh Pallijhikki, PPCC Working President Sukhwinder Singh Danny, former Chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board and senior Congress leader Pawan Diwan, former Patiala Mayor Sanjeev Bittu, and Congress leader Darvjeet Pooni thanked the Congress leadership for entrusting Warring with the responsibility once again.
Pallijhikki and Diwan said that retaining Warring as the Punjab Congress president reflects the party's renewed confidence in his leadership and marks the beginning of a new phase of strength and unity within the organization.
They stated that Warring had already proved his leadership during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by leading the Congress to victory in 7 of Punjab's 13 parliamentary seats. They also noted that Warring energized party workers across the state and achieved a significant personal victory by defeating three-time Member of Parliament Ravneet Singh Bittu from the Ludhiana constituency.
The leaders described Warring as a young, energetic, and tireless politician with exceptional political acumen and a firm commitment to removing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from power and putting Punjab back on the path of development.
They expressed confidence that under Warring's strong leadership, the Punjab Congress would contest the Assembly elections scheduled for next year with complete unity and hand a decisive defeat to the ruling AAP. Pallijhikki and Diwan asserted that the Congress would make a resounding comeback, claiming that many AAP candidates would not only lose the elections but would also forfeit their security deposits.
They said this reflected the growing public support that the Congress is building under Warring's leadership across Punjab
