New Delhi, July 21, 2026: Leaders of the 'Cockroach Movement' protesting in Delhi have announced that they will continue their agitation against the government, but will not conduct further marches on the roads of New Delhi towards Parliament. This decision was taken after police took strict action against thousands of protesters attempting to march towards Parliament.
Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), stated during a press conference on Tuesday, "We will not march again because the police will harm the youth again."
He added that although there will be no road marches, the movement will persist with its campaign against the government. The primary demand of the protest is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The movement alleges that the Education Minister should be held responsible for the flaws present in the country's education system.
It may be recalled that on July 20, the police had brutally lathi-charged and fired tear gas at young men and women marching towards Parliament, leaving dozens of youth injured. On the other hand, several police officers and personnel were also injured in clashes with the police and due to stone-peltings. Both the government and the Cockroach Party remain firm on their respective stands.
