Chandigarh, July 25, 2026: The Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, A. Sreenivas, IAS, addressed a press conference at the State Headquarters today to brief the media on the successful completion of the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls across the State.
During the press conference, A. Sreenivas highlighted the extensive efforts undertaken by the election machinery to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision.
He appreciated the dedication and coordinated efforts of District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Booth Level Officers (BLOs), and all officials involved in the exercise.
The Chief Electoral Officer informed that the first phase of SIR-2026 was completed successfully with active participation from eligible electors across Haryana.
He emphasized that the Special Intensive Revision aims to enhance the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the electoral rolls by ensuring that every eligible citizen is duly enrolled while maintaining error-free voter records.
A. Sreenivas reiterated the Election Commission's commitment to conducting free, fair, inclusive, and transparent electoral processes. He also urged all stakeholders, including political parties, electors, and the media, to continue extending their cooperation during the subsequent stages of the revision process.
The press conference concluded with an interactive session during which the Chief Electoral Officer responded to media queries regarding the progress of SIR-2026 and the road-map for the upcoming phases.
