Australia: 36-yr-old Batala man dies in road accident
Family seeks help to bring body home

Gurdaspur (Punjab), August 10, 2026: A 36-year-old Punjabi man from Batala's Urban Estate died in a tragic road accident in Melbourne, Australia, leaving his family in deep shock.
The deceased has been identified as Sneh Pal Singh, who had moved to Australia around 11 years ago in search of better opportunities. He was the only son of his parents.
According to information available, Sneh Pal's car was parked on the side of a road in Melbourne when an unidentified vehicle allegedly crashed into it from behind. The impact was reportedly severe and Sneh Pal died at the spot.
The news of his death triggered grief in his family in Batala. His parents are reportedly devastated by the loss of their only son.
Family members and relatives have been visiting the bereaved household to express their condolences. Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Congress leader Amandeep Jaintipur also met Sukhdev Singh, the deceased's father-in-law, at Ghasitpur and expressed their condolences.
The family has appealed to the government and administration to extend assistance in bringing Sneh Pal Singh's mortal remains back to India at the earliest so that his last rites can be performed according to religious customs.
