PATIALA, August 15, 2026: Navjivini School of Special Education, Sular, Patiala, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with immense enthusiasm, patriotic fervour and a deep sense of pride. The special occasion brought together students, teachers, parents, school management, community representatives and distinguished guests, creating an atmosphere filled with patriotism, joy and the spirit of inclusion.
The school campus was beautifully decorated in the colours of the National Flag as students and staff gathered to commemorate the historic occasion. The celebrations highlighted not only the significance of Independence Day but also the determination, abilities and achievements of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the National Tricolor, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The sight of the students participating with enthusiasm and waving the national flag added a deeply emotional and inspiring dimension to the celebrations.
Ms. Jiwanjot Kaur, PCS, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Avneet Pal Singh, President, Rotary Club Patiala (RID 3090), attended as the Distinguished Guest of Honour, along with members of the Rotary Club and several respected members of the community.
Students Steal the Show with Inspiring Performances
The highlight of the celebrations was the vibrant cultural programme presented by the students of Navjivini School of Special Education. The children participated with remarkable confidence and enthusiasm, presenting patriotic songs, musical performances, group dances, recitations and other cultural items.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Jiwanjot Kaur, PCS, congratulated the students on their impressive performances and extended her best wishes to the school management, teachers, parents and staff.
