The first sitting will begin at 11 am on August 21.
Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania shared details of the preparations and proposed proceedings at a press conference on Wednesday. He said the Assembly Secretariat has received 1,036 questions from legislators for the session.
Of these, 787 are starred questions and 249 are unstarred questions. All the questions were submitted online, the Speaker said. The Assembly Secretariat has also received 13 notices under Rule 62, two notices under Rule 63, and 15 notices under Rule 130.
The monsoon session is expected to witness discussions on a range of public-interest issues, with both Opposition and ruling party legislators likely to raise matters concerning their constituencies and the state.
Given the large number of questions received, several important issues are expected to come up for discussion during the 10 sittings.
Pathania appealed to all legislators to cooperate in ensuring the smooth conduct of the House. He said active participation by all members was essential to effectively raise issues concerning the public.
