Breaking: Charanjit Channi misses CWC meeting over MA Public Administration exam

New Delhi, August 19, 2026: Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi missed Wednesday’s Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting at Indira Bhavan as he had an MA examination in Public Administration scheduled for Thursday.
Channi is pursuing an MA in Public Administration from Panjab University and is currently appearing for his examinations.
His absence was noted as several senior Congress leaders gathered for the CWC meeting, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
The CWC meeting is being held to discuss key organisational and political matters concerning the Congress party.
