Dev Samaj Ferozepur hosts two-day Dharam Vikasalaya Satsang
Ferozepur, August 21, 2026: A two-day Dharam Vikasalaya Satsang was organised at Dev Samaj Educational Institutions, Ferozepur, on August 19 and 20, with the objective of promoting spiritual awareness, true knowledge and a service-oriented way of life. The Sat Dharam Bodh Utsav is also being organised at the institution on August 21 and 22.
Dev Samaj is described as a scientific religion founded by Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji on February 18, 1887. The four Dev Shastras authored by Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji provide spiritual knowledge and guidance aimed at helping individuals overcome lower tendencies and lead a life dedicated to service.
On the first day, August 19, Prof. (Dr.) Agnees Dhillon, President of the Dev Samaj Management Council, Chairperson of Dev Samaj College Educational Institutions, Ferozepur, and Secretary, Dev Samaj, delivered a detailed study and interpretation of Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji’s scripture, ‘Dev Bhav Khand-II’.
Counsellors of the Dev Samaj College Management Committee, including Ram Bilas Pandey, Manoj Madan, Jagdish Rai Gaba and Manvinder Singh Mangat, along with the Chief Administrative Officer, Headquarters, Chandigarh, members of the representative assembly and devotees from Delhi, Palwal, Rajasthan and Punjab participated in the programme.
During the session, the second volume of the Dev Shastra was discussed, focusing on eight forms of spiritual awareness and four types of attachments considered essential for attaining true knowledge. The participants were also apprised of the origins and causes of various misconceptions and the four criteria prescribed for examining religious beliefs and overcoming false notions.
On the second day, August 20, the participants studied and discussed the four fundamental principles concerning the human soul discovered and propounded by Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji. It was explained that the life-force acquired by a human being constitutes the soul and has a close relationship with the human body.
The participants also deliberated upon destructive and downward tendencies, referred to in Dev Samaj terminology as lower attachments and lower aversions, which are considered harmful to human existence. Detailed discussions were held on misconceptions regarding the soul and ways to overcome such destructive tendencies.
The satsang concluded with an emphasis on the principles propounded by Bhagwan Dev Atma Ji and their relevance in developing spiritual awareness, true knowledge and a righteous, service-oriented way of life.
