Chandigarh, August 22, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Saturday announced the induction of Dr Gulzar Mohammad of Malerkotla and three independent municipal councillors into the party, in a move aimed at strengthening its organisational presence in the district.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann welcomed Dr Gulzar Mohammad and the three councillors into the party and expressed confidence that their experience and connect with people would further strengthen the AAP organisation in Malerkotla.
The party said the latest inductions reflected the continued support for its “people-centric policies” and claimed that leaders and elected representatives from different parts of Punjab were joining its fold.
The development is significant for Malerkotla, where the party is seeking to consolidate its organisational base and expand its support among local representatives.
Former Nagar Council president Iqbal Fauji, Mohammad Bashir, Mohammad Habib, Suraiya Begum, Mohammad Mumtaz (Taj), Zahida Parveen, Mohammad Aslam (Kala), Punjab Waqf Board Chairman Mohammad Owais, Azam Rana, District Chairman of Trade Wing Commission Punjab Shahbaz Rana, and Punjab Waqf Board Member were also present on the occasion.
