Breaking: Panjab University announces Student Council Election Schedule 2026-27

Chandigarh, August 22, 2026: Panjab University, Chandigarh, has released the official schedule for the Campus Students' Council Elections for the 2026-27 academic session.
Issued by the Office of the Dean, Student Welfare (DSW), the notification outlines the timeline for electing Office Bearers, Departmental Representatives (DRs), and the Executive Committee.
According to the official schedule, the filing of nominations, scrutiny, and publication of candidate lists across departments will take place on August 24. Objections can also be submitted on the same day within the designated timeframe.
On August 25, the list of approved candidates will be displayed, followed by the window for withdrawal of nominations. The final list of contesting candidates will be published later that afternoon.
Voting is scheduled for August 31, 2026. Following the conclusion of polling, ballot boxes for Office Bearers will be collected and transferred to the Gymnasium Hall for counting. Results for both Departmental Representatives and Office Bearers will be declared on August 31.
The election process will conclude on September 11 with the Executive Committee election at the Auditorium, Department of Zoology, where only elected Departmental Representatives and Office Bearers will participate. The university administration has instructed all departments to adhere strictly to the schedule.
