Health Minister felicitates Mayank Foundation for promoting voluntary blood donation
Ferozepur, August 22, 2026: Mayank Foundation, Ferozepur, was honoured for its sustained and commendable contribution to the field of blood donation during a state-level NGO conference and felicitation ceremony organised by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Punjab, in Chandigarh. The event was presided over by Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh. Representing Mayank Foundation, Vice-President Rajiv Setia and Deepak Maithpal attended the conference and received the honour on behalf of the organisation.
Foundation Secretary Rakesh Kumar said the recognition was the result of the collective efforts of the foundation’s members, volunteers and blood donors. He said that under the leadership of President Dr. Anirudh Gupta, Mayank Foundation had been regularly organising blood donation camps for the past eight years and motivating people, particularly youngsters, to come forward for voluntary blood donation.
During the conference, important technical sessions were held on promoting voluntary blood donation, improving the quality of blood donation camps, encouraging donors to donate blood regularly and increasing youth participation. Experts also provided information about donor eligibility and essential guidelines related to blood donation.
Special emphasis was laid on further strengthening the voluntary blood donation campaign through better coordination between the government and NGOs. Various social organisations also shared their experiences and working practices in the field of blood donation.
Rakesh Kumar said the honour was a matter of pride for Mayank Foundation and would further boost the morale of its members and volunteers. He added that the foundation would continue its efforts to spread awareness about blood donation and help ensure the availability of blood for patients in need.
