Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra Appointed Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court

Chandigarh, September 5, 2026: Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, presently a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India has notified the appointment today.
The notification states that Justice Mishra will assume the office of Chief Justice with effect from the date he assumes charge.
Justice Mishra is currently serving as the Acting Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The notification has been communicated to the Registrars General of the High Court as well as the Governors and Chief Secretaries of Punjab and Haryana, among other authorities.
The appointment notification was issued from the Department of Justice, Appointments Division, Ministry of Law and Justice, New Delhi, on September 5, 2026.
