DM Suicide Case: HC reserves order on bail pleas of Laljit Bhullar’s father, PA

Chandigarh, September 15, 2026: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the anticipatory bail pleas filed by Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, father of former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, and his personal assistant (PA) Dilbagh Singh in connection with the suicide case of DM Gagandeep Randhawa.
The court reserved its decision after hearing arguments from both sides in the case.
During the hearing, counsel appearing for Sukhdev Singh Bhullar submitted that he was cooperating with the police investigation and was not evading the probe.
The case pertains to the suicide of DM Gagandeep Randhawa, in which former minister Laljit Singh Bhullar was arrested by the police. Bhullar was also removed from the state Cabinet following his arrest.
The names of Bhullar’s father, Sukhdev Singh Bhullar, and his PA, Dilbagh Singh, subsequently surfaced in the case, following which they approached the High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
The High Court has now reserved its order on their pleas. The court’s decision is awaited.
