Breaking: Abohar Cloth Merchant Murder: Two Rs 5-lakh rewarded shooters arrested from Jodhpur

Abohar/Chandigarh, September 20, 2026: The Punjab Police Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested two alleged shooters wanted in connection with the murder of Abohar cloth merchant Sanjay Verma.
The accused have been identified as Billa and Jaskaran, both residents of Fazilka district. A reward of ₹5 lakh each had been announced for information leading to their arrest, according to police.
The two were arrested from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, following a tip-off received by the AGTF about their presence in the city.
Police said the two accused were allegedly involved in the killing of Sanjay Verma in Abohar on July 7, 2025. They had reportedly been absconding since the incident, with multiple police teams conducting searches to trace them.
According to preliminary investigation, the alleged shooters had links with the Arzu Bishnoi gang, police said. Investigators are now probing their alleged role in the murder and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The police are also expected to question the accused about their movements after the crime, including who allegedly provided them shelter and financial assistance while they remained on the run.
