MP Rajinder Gupta congratulates Indian Women’s 4x400m relay team, Parveen Hooda and other players on Asian Games success

Chandigarh, September 29, 2026: Member of Parliament Rajinder Gupta congratulated the Indian women’s 4x400m relay team, boxer Parveen Hooda and other Indian athletes for their performances at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Gupta extended his congratulations to Kiran Pahal, Machettira Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary and Vithya Ramraj, who won the women’s 4x400m relay gold medal with a time of 3:29.69.
The victory gave India its first athletics gold medal of the ongoing Asian Games. Gupta also congratulated Parveen Hooda on her performance in boxing and lauded the efforts of athletes competing across various disciplines.
Shooter Neeru Dhanda also won gold in the women’s individual trap event on Tuesday, contributing to India’s medal haul.
Gupta congratulated the entire Indian contingent for their performances and praised the athletes for their hard work, discipline and determination on the international stage.
India added eight medals on September 29, taking its overall tally to 53 medals — six gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze. India was placed 10th in the overall medal standings at the end of the day.
Gupta wished the Indian contingent success in the remaining events and expressed hope that the athletes would continue to bring laurels to the country.
