Chandigarh, July 7, 2025: In a grand celebration blending sports, stardom, and corporate excellence, Punjab De Sher — the champion team of the 11th Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) — was felicitated by Punjab Governor and UT Chandigarh Administrator, Gulab Chand Kataria, at a glittering ceremony held at Hotel Hyatt Regency on Sunday evening.
The event, titled “A Night with the Champions,” was hosted by Punjab Angels Network and witnessed the presence of ministers, senior bureaucrats, celebrated artists, corporate leaders, and a sea of fans. Among the notable attendees were team owners Puneet Singh and Navraj Hans, along with renowned celebrities including Hans Raj Hans, Jaspinder Narula, Aparshakti Khurana, Ammy Virk, Binnu Dhillon, Hardy Sandhu, Manmeet Singh (Meet Brothers), Suyyash Rai, Anuj Khurana, Rahul Jaitley, Mayur Mehta, Balraj Sayal, Gavie Chahal, Daksh, Gulzar, Karan Gilhotra, and others.
Punjab De Sher, led by captain Hardy Sandhu, clinched a dominant eight-wicket victory over Chennai Rhinos in the CCL 11 final held at Karnataka State Cricket Association Ground in Mysuru. The team's stellar performance saw individual brilliance across the tournament — Hardy Sandhu was named Player of the Series, Rahul Jaitley earned the Best Batter award, Jassie Gill was honoured as Best Bowler, and Suyyash Rai took home the Man of the Match title in the final.
Speaking at the event, Governor Kataria praised the team’s spirit and performance:
“Cricket is a unifying force in India. When the enthusiasm of celebrities combines with corporate discipline, it creates something extraordinary. Punjab De Sher represents that very spirit — of talent, teamwork, and tenacity. Their victory is a proud moment for Punjab.”
Team owner Puneet Singh, visibly thrilled, said,
“This championship is not just a win for the team, but for every fan who believed in us. We are humbled by the support and recognition.”
Organiser Sahil Makkar noted that the team’s success was built on strategic thinking, leadership, and a strong sense of unity — principles drawn from both corporate and sporting domains.
The evening concluded with a note of pride and celebration, as Punjab De Sher was hailed not just for their victory, but for embodying Punjab’s resilience, passion, and unity on and off the field.
