‘The Teacher App’ programme for teachers launched in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 10, 2026: The Ferozepur district administration, in collaboration with NITI Aayog and Bharti Airtel Foundation, launched a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme for teachers through ‘The Teacher App’ at Hotel Grey Heights, Ferozepur.
Around 100 teachers and senior education officials participated in the programme, aimed at strengthening teachers’ professional learning through technology-enabled resources, modern teaching methodologies and continuous capacity building.
The programme was held in the presence of Krishna Pal Rajput, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development); Gurinder Singh, Research Officer; Sanjeev Maini, Junior Assistant; Munila Arora, District Education Officer (Secondary); Sunita Rani, District Education Officer (Elementary); Dr Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary); Komal Arora, Deputy District Education Officer; and Pawan Kumar, MIS Coordinator.
Lieutenant Colonel Jitendra Verma, OSD, NITI Aayog, joined the programme virtually. Alok Upadhyay, Manager Partnerships, and Gaurav Maggu, Project Coordinator, represented the Bharti Airtel Foundation.
‘The Teacher App’ is a free digital platform developed by the Bharti Airtel Foundation for teachers’ training and professional development. With more than three lakh users across the country, the platform provides access to professional development courses, expert-led webinars, classroom resources and updated learning material.
The App also offers AI-based tools for lesson planning and assessment, question banks, resources on misconceptions and opportunities for teachers to connect with professional learning communities.
Krishna Pal Rajput said continuous professional development is an important component of strengthening the teaching-learning process. He added that such initiatives help teachers adopt new and effective teaching practices in line with changing classroom requirements.
Lieutenant Colonel Jitendra Verma said strengthening teachers’ capacities is fundamental to continuous improvement in school education, while Alok Upadhyay highlighted the role of ‘The Teacher App’ in making professional learning more accessible and practical for teachers.
The initiative further strengthened the joint commitment of the district administration, NITI Aayog and Bharti Airtel Foundation towards teacher capacity building, continuous professional learning and effective use of technology in classrooms to promote quality education.
