ANTF busts cross-border drone network; 8.250 kg heroin seized, key operator arrested
Ferozepur, November 15, 2025: In a major breakthrough in Punjab’s ongoing war against drugs, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur Range has dismantled a cross-border drug smuggling syndicate operating through drones, seizing 8.250 kg of heroin in an intelligence-led operation. The operation was carried out under the supervision of AIG Gurinderbir Singh and the guidance of the Special DGP and ADGP, ANTF Punjab.
The main accused and operator of the supply chain, Bagicha Singh, son of Paramjit Singh and resident of Gatti Rajoke village (PS Sadar Ferozepur), has been arrested. Police believe the heroin consignment was dropped via drone from across the Pakistan border.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 294 dated 13.11.2025 at Police Station ANTF, S.A.S. Nagar, under Sections 21 and 23 of the NDPS Act.
During the preliminary investigation, ANTF uncovered a deeper connection: the accused’s father Paramjit Singh and brother Amandeep Singh had also been arrested two months ago with 4.5 kg heroin in separate recoveries, confirming the presence of a family-run drug trafficking syndicate operating in the border belt. Bagicha Singh is suspected to have been working closely with Pakistan-based handlers to facilitate the movement and distribution of drug consignments within Punjab.
The ANTF stated that efforts are ongoing to trace the cross-border handlers, map the drone routes, and identify other members of the network. The Punjab Police reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling narco-networks and preventing the inflow of drugs through the international border.
